Skyjack built its reputation in the scissor lift market by doing one thing extremely well: simplicity of design and ease of field maintenance. The solid-state control system on the SJ series has been a selling point for rental fleets since the early 1990s, and the parts network is broad enough that keeping a Skyjack running rarely requires a dealer visit. That durability is exactly why the units hold value and why we have no hesitation funding them new or used, with direct-to-owner financing that skips a lot of the friction you'd find at a bank.

Skyjack, headquartered in Guelph, Ontario and manufactured in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, produces electric and diesel scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, and vertical mast lifts. The product line runs from compact 19-foot slabs up to 47-foot rough terrain scissors and 63-foot articulating booms. Their focus is narrow compared to JLG or Genie, which means the engineering depth on each platform is considerable.

We fund Skyjack scissors and booms starting at $50,000, with application-only approval available to around $400,000. Most Skyjack deals are single units or small fleet additions, and they process quickly: application plus three months of bank statements, a decision in one to two business days, funding inside two weeks in most cases.

The SJIII 3219 is Skyjack's 19-foot electric slab scissor, the entry-level commercial unit. Platform capacity is 800 pounds, drive class for slab and smooth surfaces, and the compact footprint fits standard commercial door openings without disassembly. The SJIII 3219 is among the most-traded used aerial units in the market, which is both a testament to its prevalence and a reason the used values are predictable.

The Skyjack SJ3226 steps up to 26 feet of platform height with 1,000-pound capacity. It's the standard workhorse for commercial construction interiors, steel stud framing at height, and facility maintenance in buildings with ceilings in the 24- to 30-foot range. Fleet operators often run the 3219 and 3226 together to cover the full range of commercial interior jobs without oversizing the unit.

The Skyjack SJ4740 rough terrain scissor is diesel-powered and spec'd for outdoor work: grades up to 45 percent, foam-filled tires, oscillating axle. Working height is 47 feet, making it one of the taller RT scissors in the market. General contractors working on steel structures, precast facades, and outdoor elevated platforms use this machine where a boom is too expensive or the horizontal footprint is constrained.

On the boom side, the Skyjack SJ46 AJ articulating boom delivers 46 feet of working height with a knuckle-over-knuckle design for positioning around obstructions. The Skyjack SJ63 AJ extends to 63 feet, covering mid-rise commercial and industrial facades that need more reach than a scissor can deliver.

Who Typically Finances Skyjack

Rental operators with mid-size fleets are the core Skyjack buyer. The brand's serviceability advantage is real in that context: a mechanic who knows the SJ solid-state controller can turn a unit fast. Rental companies frequently standardize on Skyjack scissors for exactly this reason, then mix in Genie or JLG booms for the taller range the Skyjack line doesn't cover. We fund those mixed-brand purchases in a single transaction when operators prefer it.

Painting and facade contractors are steady buyers of Skyjack scissors. The compact footprint and predictable operation make them practical on commercial repaint jobs where multiple units are running simultaneously in tight site conditions. Painting and coatings contractors often finance Skyjack scissors in two- or three-unit batches, and those transactions fall well within our application-only approval range.

Facility maintenance operators at large campuses, warehouses, and distribution centers also buy Skyjack, usually the electric slab units for interior access. These buyers are often financing their first or second piece of aerial equipment, and the Skyjack's operating simplicity makes the transition from rental to ownership straightforward.

Common questions
Answers from the desk.

Are older Skyjack scissors from the 1990s financeable?

Very old units (15+ years) are harder to place because most lender programs cap at ten years. That said, low-hour, well-documented older Skyjack units sometimes qualify on a case-by-case basis. Contact us with the specifics and we'll assess.

I want to add three Skyjack 3226 scissors to my existing fleet. Can I do that as one deal?

Yes. Multi-unit Skyjack deals process as a single transaction. Three 3226s priced around $25,000 to $35,000 each would total $75,000 to $105,000, which falls well within the application-only range. One application, one approval, one funding.

Can I refinance a Skyjack scissor I've been paying on for two years to get a lower rate?

Yes. If your credit or business profile has improved since the original note, a refi can lower the rate and the monthly payment. We need the current payoff amount and the unit info. The process runs on the same timeline as a new purchase.

Does Skyjack's Canadian origin affect financing or parts availability in the U.S.?

Not in practice. Skyjack has extensive dealer and parts distribution across the United States. The units are priced and sold in USD through U.S. dealers, and the financing process is identical to any domestic-brand aerial lift.
